About Jackie Chasen
Glued to her instrument since the age of 8, Jackie Chasen’s innate ability and inborn passion were evident at an early age. Never going anywhere without her brassy partner in crime tucked neatly under her arm, her hard work and dedication to her craft paid off. And in 2007, after graduating the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Jackie hit the New York musical scene. She has played alongside legendary acts like Spyro Gyra and Brian Culbertson during the Spirit of New York Smooth Jazz Cruises and has appeared at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Cape Cod Jazz Festival, Toad’s Place and the Highline Ballroom. In addition to writing and recording her own original music, Jackie can be seen performing with the ska-pop group, Across the Aisle, and soulful funk-fusion group, Mary C. and the Stellars.
Influenced by a diverse cross-section of artists consisting of everyone from John Coltrane to Hall and Oates, Jackie seamlessly blends classical jazz with sassy pop rhythms for a glossy sweet sound that is truly unique. Often described as tight, innovative and polished, Jackie is a multifaceted talent who is destined to become a compelling and lasting musical force.
When she’s not spending time on stage or in the studio, Jackie enjoys baking cupcakes and playing with her menagerie of rescued pets.
